Plymouth State's Wigg Headlines the 2014-15 MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey All-Conference Teams
Junior Andrew Wigg of Plymouth State has been named the 2014-15 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and leads the All-Conference team as voted on by the coaches from around the league.

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Junior Andrew Wigg of Plymouth State has been named the 2014-15 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and leads the All-Conference team as voted on by the coaches from around the league.
Leading the Panthers to a 14-8-3 record in conference play and the top seed in the MASCAC Tournament, Wigg, a junior from Lantz, Nova Scotia, led the MASCAC with 15 goals this season, points per game with 1.45, total points with 32 and fifth in assists with 17. He also was second in the conference in power play points per game (0.55) and fourth in power play goals (5). In 11 of the 22 games he played in, Wigg scored two points or more, including a hat trick against Framingham State in January.
Earning the 2014-15 MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors is Casey Shea of UMass Dartmouth. The freshman from Woburn, Mass. helped the Corsairs to six league wins and the sixth seed in the tournament. Shea finished the regular season first among freshman in scoring with 1.08 points per game on eight goals and 19 assists which was the second most in the MASCAC. Shea netted his first collegiate marker against Worcester State in November, while scoring his first game-winning goal in the regular-season finale at Fitchburg State.
For his efforts in leading his team to 14 conference wins, the top seed in the tournament and a first round bye, Craig Russell of Plymouth State has been named the 2014-15 Champion’s Choice Coach of the Year.
Joining Wigg and Shea on the 2014-15 first team are Mike Freitag of Plymouth State at forward, Zach Sarig of Plymouth State, Craig Halpin of Fitchburg State and Gabriel Cromp of Salem State on defense and Gordon Ceasar of Plymouth State in goal.
The 2014-15 second team is made up of Ryan McDonald of Framingham State, Michael Economos of Plymouth State and Dalton Jay of Westfield State at forward, Craig Halpin of Fitchburg State and Kyllian Kirkwood of Westfield State on defense and Ryan Wysocki of Fitchburg State in goal.
