Westfield State's Perreault Headlines 2013-14 MASCAC Hockey All-Conference Team
Senior Vince Perreault of Westfield State has been named the 2013-14 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and leads the All-Conference team as voted on by the coaches from around the league.

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Senior Vince Perreault of Westfield State has been named the 2013-14 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year and leads the All-Conference team as voted on by the coaches from around the league.
During the 2013-14 season, Perreault led the team with 26 points on nine goals and 17 assists, helping the Owls to 10 conference wins and the third seed in the conference tournament. The senior forward from Braeside, Ontario was fifth in the league in points per game (1.13) and assists (0.74) averaged and finished in a tie for first in the conference in game winning goals scored (3).
Plymouth State forward Ian McGilvrey has been named the 2013-14 MASCAC Rookie of the Year after an outstanding freshman campaign that saw the Omaha, Nebraska native leading the conference in points per game (1.20). He finished the regular season with 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points while helping the Panthers to a first round bye in the conference tournament. Framingham State's T.J. Brown has been named the Champion's Choice Coach of the Year after leading the Rams to an 8-7-3 record and the fourth seed in the tournament.
Joining Perreault and McGilvrey on the 2013-2014 first team are Eric Defelice of Salem State at forward, Zach Sarig of Plymouth State, Craig Halpin of Fitchburg State on defense and Nick Cafrelli of Framingham State in goal.
The 2013-14 second team is made up of Brendan McCarron of Framingham State, John Celli of Fitchburg State and Shaun Walters of UMass Dartmouth at forward, Ian Canty of Salem State and Billy Miller of Westfield State on defense and Gordon Ceasar of Plymouth State in goal.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in the sport of football for the 2013-14 academic year.
