Bridgewater State's Precious Okoh, Westfield State's Brendon Hamilton and Worcester State's Aaron Nkrumah garner d3hoops.com All-Region One honors while Hamilton and Nkrumah also were named to National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District teams.
A native of Brockton, Massachusetts, Okoh averaged a team-leading 19.6 points in 16 games this season (11 starts) as well as 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals. He also shot 40.5% (113-279) from the field, 39.7% (48-121) from behind the arc and 72.7% (40-55) at the free throw line. Okoh ranked third in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in scoring, assists and three-point shooting percentage. He was also seventh among the conference leaders in minutes per game (31.1) and eighth in free throw percentage. Last month, Okoh was named to the All-MASCAC First Team.
Hamilton, who was also named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Year, and earned a spot on the MASCAC All-Conference First Team this past season, averaged a double-double on the season at 12.9 points and 12.4 rebounds per game. He led the MASCAC in total rebounds (334) and in both offensive (96) and defensive (238) rebounding categories. At the conclusion of the Owls season, Hamilton was tied for second in all of Division III with 81 total blocks and averaged a career-high 3.0 blocks per game.
After claiming the MASCAC Player of the Year and helping to lead the Worcester State Men’s Basketball team to their second MASCAC Championship in a row, and third all-time. Nkrumah ended the year with 561 points, recording his career 1,000th in just two seasons, in the NCAA first round game versus Catholic University, to go along with 231 rebounds, 69 assists and 70 steals on the year.
