Westfield State College freshman forward Jessi Gould was named over the weekend as the 2008 Little East Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Year in a vote of the league's coaches.

Gould, a native of Canton, Mass., is one of eight individuals from MASCAC member institutions to earn spots on this year's team, as she led the Owls in scoring with 17 goals and a pair of assists for 36 points.

Worcester State senior back Kimberly Cosenza earned first team all-Little East accolades this fall, while Gould was joined by six other MASCAC individuals on this year's team: Framingham State junior forward Kali Barrett, Salem State senior midfielder Kara Beauregard, Westfield State senior midfielder Ali Rheaume, Fitchburg State freshman back Saralyn Byler, Bridgewater State junior back Kelly Downs and Worcester State senior goalie Erin MacDonald.
