MASCAC Football Weekly Awards 10/21
Dante Aviles-Santos of UMass Dartmouth, Carl Renaudin of Framingham State, Jonah Bassett Jr. of Plymouth State and Logan Tsika of Mass. Maritime grab the MASCAC Football Offensive, Defensive, Special Teams and Rookie of the Week accolades.

Aviles-Santos went 26-of-32 with 342 total yards in the Corsairs 58-7 victory at Worcester State. Threw for six touchdowns - a season and career-high - with a long of 50-yards. In the opening quarter, he threw two scores, one for 30-yards, the other for 50-yards. He then threw for two 14-yard touchdowns in the second quarter, adding a 1-yard toss and 9-yard score in the third quarter. Aviles-Santos’s efforts came over three quarters of play against the Lancers. |
Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week
Carl Renaudin, Framingham State
Freshman, Safety, Waltham, Mass.
Ranaudin finished with five tackles (one solo), a fumble recovery returned for an 11 yard touchdown to tie the game and an
interception in the Rams’ 21-7 win over Westfield State.

Bassett had a pair of end zone interceptions and three tackles in the Panthers defeated VTSU Castleton, 21-6, on Saturday. With PSU holding a 21-6 lead, the Spartans drove to the PSU 15-yard line with five minutes left in the third quarter. Bassett, Jr. making a leaping catch in the end zone to stop the potential scoring drive. He followed with another end zone interception on the next VTSU Castleton drive early in the fourth quarter. |
Special Teams Player of the Week |
Tsika kicked four times on Saturday in the Bucs' 21-3 win over Fitchburg State for a total of 145 yards, an average of 36.3 yards per punt and pinned the Falcons inside their own 20 yard line once. |
