Dan Burnett of Westfield State, Ben Smith and Riggs Catlin of Worcester State claim the MASCAC Baseball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week accolades.
Player of the Week |
Burnett batted .391 (9-23) with a double, triple, three home runs, nine RBI, eight runs scored and a .913 slugging percentage in a 4-1 week for the Owls. Belted a pair of home runs in the Owls 10-9 come-from-behind victory over Washington College. Went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, three RBI and two runs scored in the 10-4 win over Marywood. Had a hit in each game in all six games. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Smith made two appearances, going 1-0 with six hits, no earned runs, nine strikeouts and three walks over 10 innings. Got the complete game shutout, allowing four hits with five strikeouts in the 6-0 win over Trinity (Conn.) |
Rookie of the Week |
Catlin batted .375 (3-8) with a home run, five RBI and three runs scored in a 2-1 week for the Lancers. Went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored in the 8-5 win over Wentworth. Registered a hit with two RBI in the 6-0 win over Trinity (Conn.).
