Scott Emerson of Bridgewater State, Nolan Kennedy of Mass. Maritime and Yabdriel Gonzalez of Salem State grab the MASCAC Baseball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week honors after defeating non-conference opponents last week.

Emerson batted .556 (5-9) with a double, two walks, two HBP, three stolen bases, five runs and two RBI in two games for the Bears. Also posted a .692 one base percentage. Went 4-for-6 with a double, a walk, a hit by pitch, two stolen bases, five runs and an RBI in a 22-4 win over Eastern Nazarene. Was 1-for-3 at the plate with a walk, a hit by pitch, a stolen base and an RBI in a 15-5 setback to #6 Salve Regina. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Kennedy tossed 8.2 innings this week and went 1-0 with six strikeouts. He walked just two hitters and allowed only one run over the 8.2 innings pitched for a 1.04 ERA and posted a 1.15 WHIP. Against Suffolk, he got the no decision after starting and throwing five innings where he allowed one run and struck out two. In 3.2 innings on Sunday against Lesley, he picked up the win, allowed no runs and struck out four. |
Rookie of the Week |
Gonzalez batted .556 (5-9) with two doubles, two RBI, three runs scored, a walk and .636 on-base percentage and .778 slugging percentage in a 2-0 week for the Vikings. Went 4-for-4 against with two doubles and an RBI in the 8-4 win over Gordon. Had a hit, RBI and run scored in the 8-7 win over Wentworth. |
