MASCAC Baseball Weekly Report 5/15
The Bridgewater State trio of Jay Wladkowski, Tyler Dasilva-Medeiros and Joshua Selander take home the MASCAC Baseball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week awards after leading the Bears to the MASCAC title Saturday.

Wladkowski, the MVP of the MASCAC Tournament, batted .357 (5-14) with a home run, a double, a stolen base, three runs and six RBI as the Bears went 3-0 to capture the tournament title. He also threw out two runners at the plate from right field. Went 2-for-5 with an RBI in a 10-7 triumph over Fitchburg State; 1-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, a run and an RBI in a 7-6 win over Framingham State; and 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, two runs and four RBI in a 11-6 championship game victory over Mass. Maritime. |
Pitcher of the Week |
Dasilva-Medeiros earned the save in each of the first two games during the Bears’ MASCAC Tournament championship run. Posted a 0.00 earned runs average and allowed just one hit over 2 1/3 innings of work with no walks and a pair of strikeouts. Worked an inning and a third and fanned one to close out a 10-7 win over Fitchburg State. Notched his MASCAC-leading and BSU record tying tenth save of the season as he set down the side in order with one strikeout in a 7-6 victory over Framingham State. |

Sealander went 3-for-6 with a double, two walks, two runs and an RBI during the Bears’ MASCAC Tournament championship run. Went 2-for-4 with a double, run and an RBI in a 7-6 win over Framingham State, and 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and a run in an 11-6 championship game victory over Mass. Maritime. |
