MASCAC Baseball Weekly Report 3/6
Matt Josselyn of Bridgewater State along with Vincent Eramo and Adam Koza of Fitchburg State earn the first MASCAC Baseball Pitcher, Player and Rookie of the Week accolades of the 2023 season.
Player of the Week |
Eramo hit .545 (6-of-11) with a double, triple, two home runs, three runs scored, eight RBI and three stolen bases in a 4-0 week for the Falcons. Went 2-for-4 with two home runs, two runs scored and five RBI in a 10-9 win over Penn State Brandywine on Saturday before finishing 4-for-4 with a double, triple, one run scored and three RBI in a 10-6 victory against Carthage on Sunday. Walked three times with three stolen bases in the 6-2 win over Gordon College.

Josselyn tossed the second perfect game in Bridgewater State University baseball history as the Bears opened the 2023 season with a 4-0 victory over Rivier University at The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Retired all 21 batters he faced with an impressive 13 strikeouts. Only two balls left the infield, a fly out to center in the third and a fly out to right in the sixth. |
Rookie of the Week |
Koza batted .333 (2-for-6) with a double, three RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in a 4-0 week for the Green and Gold. Notched his first collegiate hit, including an RBI and two runs scored in a 10-9 win over Penn State Brandywine on Saturday before adding a double, two RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in a 10-6 triumph against Carthage on Sunday.
