Westfield State's Nick Marshall and Ryan Lapierre take home the MASCAC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week accolades with Bridgewater State's Riley Thornell grabbing Rookie of the Week after non-conference play over the past week.
Player of the Week |
Marshall hit .333 (2-6) with two home runs, four RBI, three walks, three runs scored, a .556 on-base percentage and a 1.333 slugging percentage in a 2-0 week for the Owls. Finished 1-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in the 5-1 win against Springfield. Added another home run, two RBI and a pair of walks as the Owls topped #2 Eastern Connecticut State,10-1.

Rookie of the Week |
Thornell batted .667 (8-12) with a triple, three walks, four runs and an RBI in four games for the Bears last week. Also posted an impressive .733 on base percentage and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Went 3-for-4 with a triple, two runs and an RBI in a 6-5 win over Rhode Island College, and 4-for-5 with three walks and two runs in a pair of setbacks to Emerson College. Also went 1-for-3 in a loss to Mitchell College. |
