MASCAC Baseball Weekly Report 3/13
The MCLA duo of Austin Rachiele and Michael Wormuth claim the MASCAC Baseball Player and Rookie of the Week while Ryan Lapierre is the Pitcher of the Week during their spring break stretch.
Player of the Week |
Rachiele batted .400 (4-for-10) with an on base percentage of .667, slugging percentage of 1.000, two home runs, seven runs scored, five RBI, three stolen bases and drew eight walks in a 2-2 week for the Trailblazers. Went 3-for-5 with a homer, five runs scored, as well as four RBI’s, two stolen bases and five drawn walks in a double-header split with Medaille before hitting a solo home run, scoring two runs, stealing three bases and reaching on three walks in a double-header split with Maine-Farmington.

Lapierre dominated in his first start with the Owls, allowing six hits and one run in 7.2 innings while striking out eight as the Owls dispatched North Park (Ill.) 3-1 in Memphis, Tenn. |
Rookie of the Week |
Wormuth batted .667 (4 for-6) with a home run, scoring six runs, along with six RBI and two stolen bases playing in three games. Went 1-for-3, scoring three runs, with an RBI and stolen base in a 20-8 win over Medaille before going 3-for-5, scoring three runs, with five RBI along with a walk and stolen base in a doubleheader spilt against Maine-Farmington. |
