12 MASCAC Student-Athletes Earn ABCA/D3baseball.com All-Region Accolades
12 student-athletes from across the MASCAC earned postseason honors from the Association of Baseball Coaches (ABCA) and d3baseball.com as announced by the organizations this week.

12 student-athletes from across the MASCAC earned postseason honors from the Association of Baseball Coaches (ABCA) and d3baseball.com as announced by the organizations this week.
For the ABCA, Bridgewater State's Tyler Dasilva-Medeiros, Scott Emerson and Matt Josselyn, Fitchburg State's Vincent Eramo, Framingham State's Ryan Boyle, Steven Burbank and Anthony Panza, MCLA's Austin Rachiele, Mass. Maritime's Brett Velzis and Westfield State's Dan Burnett and Nick Marshall received All-Region 2 honors. Josselyn, Eramo, Boyle, Burbank, Panza, Rachiele, Velzis and Marshall also received d3baseball.com All-Region 2 accolades and are joined by Fitchburg State's Jacob Hurrell on this year's team.
Dasilva-Medeiros notched a school record-tying ten saves while striking out 24 batters and posting a 1.40 earned run average as well as a 4.80 strikeout to walk ratio in 19.1 innnings of work. Opponents also batted just .188 against the Taunton, Massachusetts native. Dasilva-Medeiros led the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) and tied for fifth in all of Division III with his ten saves. He equaled BSU Hall of Famer Fred Martin's single-season program mark set back in 1998. In 50 apearances over five seasons with the Bears, Dasilva-Medeiros recorded 21 saves and notched a pair of wins. He also struck out 84 batters and posted a 3.71 career ERA in 70.1 innings.
Josselyn went 9-2 in 2023 with nine complete games and three shutouts in 13 appearances on the mound including 12 starts. The Hanson, Massachusetts product produced a 2.36 earned run average and fanned 78 batters over 80 innings of work, while opponents batted .241 against him. Josselyn also sported a 1.10 WHIP (walks & hits per innings pitched) as well as a 5.20 strikeout to walk ratio. Josselyn led the MASCAC in complete games, shutouts, strikeouts, WHIP, strikeout to walk ratio and innings pitched. He also tied for the conference lead in wins and games started, and ranked second in ERA. On a national level, Josselyn finished the season as the NCAA Division III leader in complete games. He is also tied for 13th nationally in wins, tied for 43rd in strikeout to walk ratio and ranks 48th in ERA.
Emerson batted .341 (56-164) with a pair of triples, six doubles, 18 walks, 30 stolen bases, 26 RBI and a school record 57 runs scored over 44 games. He was also hit by a pitch 13 times and sported a .442 on base percentage. The Peabody, Massachusetts native led the MASCAC in at bats, plate appearances (200), runs and stolen bases, tied for second in games played, tied for third in HBP and ranked fourth in hits.
Eramo picks up his first All-Region accolade, rewriting the Falcons record book after concluding the 2023 campaign with a .395 batting average with 58 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, 37 runs scored, 55 RBI, 18 walks and 13 steals, while setting the Falcons single season records for RBI, home runs and total bases as well as setting the school's program record career home runs (22) and total bases in a career with 280. For his efforts, Vinny was also selected to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference First Team.
Hurrell also notched his first All-Region selection after hitting .362 with 47 hits, nine doubles, four triples, six home runs, 31 runs scored, 23 RBI, 15 walks and a team-best 18 stolen bases. In addition, Jacob was named to the MASCAC All-Conference Second Team.
Boyle, a two-time All-MASCAC selection, earns Second Team All-Region honors from both organizations after hitting .384 on the year with 53 hits on the year and a .652 slugging percentage. Boyle, who was an All-Region selection in 2022, recorded 10 doubles and nine home runs with 52 RBI and added a .983 fielding percentage.
Burbank earned Second Team All-Region Honors from both D3baseball.com and ABCA for the first time in his career after leading the Rams at the plate with a .404 average. Burbank, an All-MASCAC selection in 2023, recorded 59 hits on the year including 12 doubles and two triples with 28 RBI.
Panza also earned his first All-Region selections being chosen to the second team by D3baseball.com and third team by ABCA. Panza also earned All-MASCAC accolades after going 4-2 with eight saves in 20 appearances on the mound. Panza eight saves ranked second in the MASCAC as he compiled a 1.57 ERA in 34.1 innings of work.
Rachiele's led the MASCAC this past season in batting (.453), home runs (14), hits (63-which tied the MCLA program record), triples (4), total bases (127-which set a new program record), as well as on base percentage (.550) and slugging percentage (.914). He also scored 53 runs (new program record), had 40 RBI, and drew 28 walks while stealing 17 bases. His efforts earned him MASCAC Player of the Year and a spot on the All-Conference First Team.
Velzis batted .385 this season with a .480 on-base percentage. He racked up 55 hits with 10 doubles, three triples, and a career-high nine home runs and drove in 37 runs while scoring 42 times. During the MASCASC Playoffs Brett hit his ninth home run of the season which also marked his 100th career hit in a Bucs uniform.
Marshall, who was named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team, finished top five in the league in home runs (10), RBIs (41), on-base percentage (.512), and slugging (.717). He led the Owls with a .362 batting average and walked a league-high 31 times. His ten home runs rank third on the program's all-time single season list.
Burnett, who also received placement on the MASCAC All-Conference First Team, piled up a .360 batting average with nine home runs and 33 RBI. He was second in the MASCAC with 15 doubles and 25 extra base hits and led Westfield with 54 hits overall. The junior infielder caught fire down the stretch as the Granville native batted .451 across the Owls final 20 games of the season.
