D3baseball.com All-New England Region Teams

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Salem State's Richard Fecteau, Brett Cahill and Ryan Hyjek and Worcester State's Dave Ruggiero have been named to the D3baseball.com All-New England Region Teams as announced by the organization on Monday. 

Earning first team accolades, Ruggiero helped the Lancers win the MASCAC conference title a and a berth into the NCAA Tournament. The junior shortstop finished the year with a .396 average which was good for fourth in the MASCAC and finished the season leading the Lancers in doubles (9), triples (5), slugging percentage (.562) and on base percentage (.434).

Fecteau and Cahill landed themselves on the D3baseball.com second team after leading the Vikings to a share of the MASCAC regular season conference crown. Fecteau earned MASCAC Player of the Year honors after leading the conference in hits (63), runs scored (47), and doubles (24). Cahill led the Vikings with a .408 batting average during the regular season and knocked in a MASCAC best 32 runs.

Rounding out the MASCAC honorees, Hyjek grabbed a spot on the third team after earning MASCAC Pitcher of the Year honors as well as having a MASCAC leading seven wins, 2.16 ERA, with 51 strikeouts to close out the year.
