Bridgewater State's Huynh, Sands Earn All-American Honors at NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships
Bridgewater State University freshman Alex Huynh and senior Serenity Sands earned First Team All-American honors in the high jump at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Golisano Training Center on the campus of Nazareth University in Rochester, New York.

In his first trip to Nationals, Huynh cleared six feet, 8.75 inches (2.05) on his first attempt of the third round as he equaled his personal-best set two weeks ago at the Division III New England Championships. Huynh finished eighth in the event out of a field of 20 student-athletes to earn the First Team All-American accolade.
After getting past the first two rounds on her first attempt, Sands cleared five feet, six inches (1.68m) on her third attempt of the third round. Sands finished eighth in the event out of a field of 20 student-athletes to earn the First Team All-American accolade for the second time in her career.
Graduate student Alison McDonough, who was making her fifth NCAA track & field championships appearance, finished tenth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 8.73 seconds.
Senior Kiara Abrantes finished 15th in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.96 seconds.
Senior Kevin McBirney finished 16th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.02.
McDonough, Abrantes and McBirney each garnered Second Team All-American honors with their performances.
Both Abrantes and McBirney were making their NCAA championships debut.
