Westfield State Names Bannister Head Softball Coach
Westfield State University has named Colleen Bannister as the new head women's softball coach. Bannister comes to Westfield with a resume that includes experience as a Division I collegiate player, and several stints coaching an umpiring in Western Massachusetts.

Worcester State's Cuoto, Rich Named to 2015 NFCA Division III New England All-Region Team
Junior Meghan Rich and sophomore Rachel Couto have both been named to the All-New England National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Third-team in a vote by the regions head coaches as announced by association publicist Dave Hines.

Western New England College ended MCLA's season at 15-22 at they were eliminated from the NCAA tournament. WNE will continue on at 30-8 and face Williams in another elimination game later today.

MCLA to Play Williams in the Regional of the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament
The official NCAA Division III Softball tournament bracket was released this morning on NCAA.com and the MCLA Trailblazers, champions of the MASCAC, won't have to travel very far for their opening round contest. The Trailblazers (15-20) drew regional host Williams College (30-6) in the opening round which begins on Friday afternoon in Williamstown.

The Worcester State Lancers have earned the top seed in the 2015 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Tournament which starts with the first round on Thursday, April 30, then quarterfinals on Friday, May 1, then semifinals on Saturday, May 2 and then concludes on Sunday, May 3 with the championship game.
