A total of 373 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Winter 2015 All-Academic Team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Plymouth State University will make its second appearance in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III men's ice hockey tournament this Saturday (Mar. 14) when the Panthers travel to Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., for a First Round contest at 7:00 p.m. at Kreitzberg Arena.

Senior Mike Freitag collected four assists Saturday evening to lead top-seeded Plymouth State University to its second Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Ice Hockey Championship with a 6-2 victory over second-seeded Salem State University before a sellout crowd at Hanaway Rink.

With the winter regular season wrapped up, Westfield State has retained their lead in the Howard C. Smith Cup standings. The Smith Cup is awarded annually to the member institution which compiles the most points based on the placement of each of its programs competing in the 15 league championship sports.
