MASCAC Volleyball Weekly Awards 10/23
MCLA's Anais Badio, Worcester State's Camryn Burgio and Westfield State's Lauren Carnes earn the MASCAC Volleyball Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week honors after claiming conference victories last week.
Offensive Player of the Week |
Badio had 23 kills with a hitting percentage of .465, and an assist leading the Trailblazers to two sweeps of MASCAC rivals Framingham State and Salem State last week. Finished with 11 kills, a .455 hitting percentage and an assist in the three set win over the Rams and 12 kills and hitting percentage of .476 in the straight set victory over the Vikings.

Defensive Player of the Week |
Burgio collected 75 digs with 14 assists, four service aces and two kills in a 2-1 week for the Lancers. Finished with 35 digs and three aces in the 3-1 win over Rhode Island. Added 23 digs, two assists and two kills in the 3-0 setback to Westfield State. Ended the week with 17 digs and an ace in the 3-0 win over Mass. Maritime. |
Rookie of the Week |
Carnes totaled 18 kills, seven digs and four blocks with a .237 hitting percentage in a pair of conference wins for the Owls, rapping out 10 kills, five assists and two block assists in the five set win against Bridgewater State as Westfield moved to 5-0 in league play. Had eight kills, two digs and two block assists in a straight-sets win at Worcester State. |
