Framingham State's Austin Named to Capital One Academic All-America Second Team
Framingham State senior midfielder Kayla Austin has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Women’s Soccer Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Senior midfielder Kayla Austin (Winchester, Mass.) has been selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Women's Soccer Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Austin was previously honored this fall as a member of the Capital One Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team for district one. After earning that honor, she was advanced to the national ballot, where she was voted as a second team Academic All-America.
Austin, majoring in Criminology with minors in Sociology and Diversity Studies with a 3.80 GPA, led the Rams to their best record (13-3-1) since 2000. A Dean's List and President's List student, she has been named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Academic Team in 2011 and 2012 and has been voted onto the All-Conference team three times (2011, 2012 & 2013).
The senior midfielder was tabbed as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Year after the Rams won the MASCAC Regular Season Title and earned a berth in the ECAC Division III New England Tournament.
Austin either scored or assisted on 48 percent of the Rams 58 goals this season. She led the Rams with 42 points on 14 goals and 14 assists which placed her among the national leaders in assists and assists per game.
