Worcester State's Connors Selected To Play In NEWISA Senior Bowl

Worcester, MA --- Worcester State senior midfielder Sarah Connors (Gardner, MA) has received a nod to represent the Lancers and play in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association on Saturday at Merrimack College at 2:30 PM.
The Senior Bowl consists of two teams of 20 players each from NCAA Divisions I, II and III. Connors was one of two named to the squad from the MASCAC with Jess Teitgens of MCLA being the other honoree. Locally, keeper Joanna Clark of Clark and Kristen Garza of WPI were also selected.
Connors had a solid senior year as she helped lead the Blue and Gold to their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance and this year’s MASCAC Tournament Championship.
Connors, a second-team all-MASCAC honoree, totaled six goals and two assists for 14 points. Her markers were tied for sixth in the MASCAC while her points were tied for 10th.
Connors finished her career tied for 12th on WSU's All-Time scoring list with 21 goals, seven assists for a total of 49 points. Her 21 tallies are tied for the seventh most all-time.
The last player to be on the NEWISA team was Tiffany Rotatori in 2008.
Under the guidance of head coach Kevin Cumberbatch, Worcester State posted a 10-6-4 mark and a 4-1-2 record in conference play.
