MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Awards 4/23
Bridgewater State's Jailene Escalera and Serenity Sands plus Worcester State's Lauren Condike grab the MASCAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field weekly honors as we head into the MASCAC Championship this Friday.
Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week |
Escalera broke her own school record in the 200-meter dash and won two events this past weekend at the Tufts University Sunshine Classic. Captured top honors in the 200 with a time of 25.03 seconds as she ecllpsed her previous BSU outdoor standard of 25.29 seconds set last season at the Springfield College Classic. Also placed first in the 100-meter dash with a finals and season-best time of 12.31 seconds. Helped the Bears finish third in the team standings at the meet. Currently ranks 34th in all of Division III in the 200 and second in the East Region. Also third in the East Region in the 100. |
Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week |
Sands won the high jump with a leap of 1.67m this past weekend at the Tufts University Sunshine Classic. Also finished eighth in the long jump (4.82m). Helped the Bears finish third in the team standings at the meet. |
Women's Outdoor Rookie of the Week |
Condike came in second in the high jump with a personal best leap of 1.52m and added a fifth place finish (8.72m) in triple jump at the Eastern Edmondson Classic. |
