MASCAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards 12/12
Jailene Escalera and Serenity Sands of Bridgewater State along with Jadah Stokes of Worcester State take home the MASCAC Women's Indoor Track and Field weekly honors after registering top 50 national marks on Saturday at their respective meets.

Escalera garnered top honors and set school records in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash this past weekend at the UMass Boston Beacons Open held at The Track at New Balance. Notched a finals time of 7.83 seconds in the 60 as she eclipsed teammate Alison McDonough’s 2022 mark of 7.94 seconds. Registered a time of 25.50 seconds in the 200 to break Jayci Andrew’s program mark of 26.37 seconds set in 2017. Currently ranked 14th in all of Division III in the 200 and 22nd in the 60. |

Sands captured the meet title and tied the school record in the high jump with a leap of 1.70m this past weekend at the UMass Boston Beacons Open held this past weekend at The Track at New Balance. Equaled the Bears’ indoor mark set by former standout (and current jumps coach) Samantha Richner in 2016. Currently ranked second in all of Division III in the high jump and first in the East Region. |
Women's Indoor Rookie of the Week |
Stokes claimed two first place finishes at the Wesleyan Winter Invite. Beat the next competitor by almost a meter with a top distance of 14.46m in the weight throw and 11.39m on her third toss in the shot put to grab first place in both events. |
