Bridgewater State Wins 2022 Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship
For the first time since the 2015-16 season, the Bridgewater State women are the MASCAC Indoor Track and Field Champions.

The Bears collected the most team points with 287 while Westfield State came in second with 182. Fitchburg State were third with 51 and Worcester State with 42 in fourth.
Bridgewater State took home 13 individual titles and two relays at yesterday's championship. Alison McDonough was a three event champion with a first place finish in the 60 meter dash (8.05), 60 meter hurdles (9.17) and long jump (5.31m). Kiara Abrantes was a dual champ in the 200 (27.19) and 400 (1:02.21). Lily Marra crossed the line first with a time of 1:48.47 in the 600 meter run while Nicole Major crossed the line first in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:27.35. Allison Raposo won a MASCAC title in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:17.49.
The Bridgewater State quartet of Abrantes, Major, Marra and Lindsey Golden claimed the 4x400 meter relay crown with a time of 4:25.63 while Raposo along with Julie Glavin, Megan Leary and Riley Maskalenko won the 4x800 meter relay in a time of 10:44.00.
The field winners along with McDonough were teammates Ashley Garvey who was a two-time winner in the shot put (10.41m) and weight throw (12.58m). Abbi Peterson had the top clearing in the high jump at 1.62m for a conference crown while Camille Hanna made it 2.65m in the pole vault for the win. Tristen Gomes rounded out the field winners with a top jump of 1.43m to win triple jump.
Westfield State finished with three individual champions at the MASCAC meet. Amy O'Sullivan collected all of the medals for the Owls with a first place finish in the mile in 5:21.36, 3,000 meter run in 10:51 and 5,000 meters in 19:48.85.
The Worcester State quartet of Elena Pellegrini, Maureen Grady, Bridget Maunsell and Avonia Herbert claimed the final relay crown in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:50.15.
The MASCAC teams will meet again in two weeks at the Division III New England Championships hosted by Colby College.
