GENEVA, Ohio – Bridgewater State University graduate student Jayci Andrews advanced to the finals of the 100-meter hurdles and junior Abbi Peterson earned All-America honors in the high jump on Friday afternoon at the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Andrews, who is competing in her seventh NCAA Division III Track & Field Championship meet, posted a preliminary and season-best time of 14.05 seconds in the 100 hurdles as she placed third in her heat. The Plymouth, Massachusetts native is seeded fifth in the finals which will take place on Saturday afternoon at 12:50.

On Thursday, Andrews advanced to the finals of the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1:00.28. Andrews is seeded fourth in the finals which will take place on Saturday afternoon at 2:15 PM.

Making her first NCAA Championships appearance, Peterson placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of five feet, 6.50 inches (1.69m). The Watertown, Massachusetts native cleared each of her first four heights on the first attempt.

The top eight place winners in each NCAA individual event garner All-America status.

BSU sophomore Serenity Sands finished 13th in the high jump with a mark of five feet, 5.25 inches (1.66m). Sands, who hails from East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, was also making her debut at the national championship meet.

On the men's side, senior Matthew Lighten finished 19th in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash on Friday afternoon at the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

A native of Dalton, Massachusetts, Lighten posted a 100 dash time of 10.80 seconds in Friday's preliminaries.
