Bridgewater State's Andrews Advances to Finals of 400m Hurdles at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Bridgewater State University graduate student Jayci Andrews advanced to the finals of the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday afternoon at the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Bridgewater State University graduate student Jayci Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) advanced to the finals of the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday afternoon at the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Andrews completed the race in 1:00.28 as she posted the third fastest time in Thursday's preliminaries behind only Birgen Nelson (59.46) of Gustavus Adolphus College and Emma Lawrence (1:00.16) of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Andrews was just 2/10 of a second off her school record time of 1:00.08 set at the 2019 NCAA Championships.

The finals of the 400-meter hurdles will take place on Saturday afternoon at 2:15 PM. Andrews is seeded fourth in the finals as she placed second in her preliminary heat. She is competing in the prelims of the 100m hurdles on Friday at 2:10 pm.

Westfield State senior Amy O'Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) wrapped up her stellar career and the Owls 2021-22 athletic seasons with a 22nd place finish in the 10,000 meters on Thursday night. O'Sullivan completed the 25-lap race in a time of 38:44.95.
 
Senior Riley Sanderson (Leominster, Mass.) finished her time at Worcester State with her first trip to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Sanderson qualified in the javelin and finished 20th in the event with a top throw of 33.39m.
