Jenise Madden of Bridgewater State, Lauren Gilderdale of Westfield State and Maureen Grady of Worcester State take home the MASCAC Women's Indoor Track and Field weekly honors brought to you by GEICO.
Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week |
Madden captured the meet title in the 5,000-meter run at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational hosted last weekend by Tufts University. Ran a season-best time of 18:10.88 as she outdistanced the field by over 30 seconds. Currently ranks 33rd in all of Division III in the 5,000 and 12th in New England. |
Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week |
Gilderdale finished first in both the shot put and weight throw at the Wesleyan Invitational. Had a top throw of 12.55m (41’ 02.25”) in the shot put and and followed it up with a 16.78m (55’ 0.75”) heave in the weight throw. |
Women's Indoor Rookie of the Week |
Grady crossed the finish line first with a time of 7.92 seconds in the 60 meter dash at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational, hosted by Tufts University. Also finished fifth in the long jump with a top leap of 4.88m (16’ 0.25”). |
