Framingham State Earns Top Seed in 2019 MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament
After going a perfect 7-0 in conference play, Framingham State earned the top seed in the upcoming MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament which starts with the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Kicking off the tournament with the quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 30 is third seed Westfield State hosting sixth seed Salem State at 6 pm then fourth seed Worcester State entertains fifth seed Massachusetts Maritime at 7 pm. The tournament continues on Thursday, May 2 with the semifinals. Winner of Massachusetts Maritime/Worcester State will play top seed Framingham State at 7 pm while the winner of Salem State/Westfield State will face second seed Bridgewater State also at 7 pm.
The MASCAC tournament champion will be decided on Saturday, May 4 between the two semifinal winners at the highest remaining seed.
Earning the top spot and a first round bye, Framingham State went undefeated in league play. Grace Gamache ended the regular season first in the conference in assists with 42, second in total points at 81 while also collecting 39 goals, 30 ground balls, 26 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers. Between the pipes, Indigo Fox Tree-McGrath topped the league in wins with 14 while finishing in the top five in goals-against average (7.92), save percentage (48.8) and saves (104).
Taking home the other first round bye and the second seed is Bridgewater State. The Bears were 6-1 during MASCAC play this season. Elizabeth Ettridge netted the most goals during the regular season with 54 while also collecting seven assists for 61 points with 32 draw controls, 26 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers.
Westfield State comes in the third seed after the Owls went 5-2 during the conference slate. In goal, Maria Woodall sat in the top five at the end of the regular season in several categories, including save percentage (49.3), saves (138), wins (7) and goals-against average (11.22).
Landing in the fourth seed is Worcester State. The Lancers were 4-3 in league action this season. Kelly Austin concluded the regular season fourth in the MASCAC in assists with 22 while also scoring 22 goals for 55 points. She added 34 ground balls, nine caused turnovers and four draw controls.
Massachusetts Maritime comes in with the fifth seed after winning three games in MASCAC play over the regular season. Casey Sullivan was in the top five of the conference in several categories at the conclusion of league play, including goals (50), assists (23) and points (73). She also collected 48 ground balls, 27 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers.
Rounding out the tournament field in sixth is Salem State. The Vikings had two victories in conference competition. Tara McLauglin led the team in total points with 39 on 23 goals and 16 assists while also nabbing 19 ground balls, nine caused turnovers and two draw controls.
During last year's tournament, top seed Westfield State won their second straight tournament title with a 17-10 victory over second seed Framingham State. With the win, the Owls earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
