MASCAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Weekly Awards 1/23
After competing at their respective meets this weekend, the Bridgewater State duo of Kevin McBirney and Exondus Barnes plus Tyler Kwamo of Fitchburg State claim the MASCAC Men's Indoor Track and Field weekly accolades.

Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week |
McBirney captured top honors in two track events to help lead the Bears to the meet title this past weekend at the Massasoit Classic hosted by Springfield College. Was the first to cross the line in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:39.70 and won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.14. Currently ranks sixth in the East Region in the 800. |
Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week |
Barnes won a pair of field events to lead the Bears to the meet title this past weekend at the Massasoit Classic hosted by Springfield College. Captured top honors in the high jump with a season-best leap of 1.95m and placed first in the long jump with a season-best mark of 6.43m. Currently ranks 25th in all of Division III in the high jump and third in the East Region. |
Men's Indoor Rookie of the Week |
Kwamo finished first overall in the triple jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 13.29 meters, while adding a tenth place jump of 1.80 meters in the high jump for the Falcons at the 2024 Branwen Smith-King Invitational, hosted by Tufts University on Saturday. |
