Bridgewater State's Stalters Earns All-American Honors at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships
Bridgewater State University junior Corey Stalters earned All-America honors on Thursday afternoon at the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Bridgewater State University junior Corey Stalters earned All-America honors on Thursday afternoon at the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Making his first NCAA Championships appearance, Stalters placed fifth in the javelin with a toss of 212 feet (64.62m) on his third throw of the day. The top eight place winners in each NCAA individual event garner All-America status.
On Wednesday, Stalters was selected as the USTFCCCA Division III East Region Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. He was the only student-athlete from the East Region competing in the javelin at the national championship meet.
Teammate Matthew Lighten finished 20th in the 200m dash preliminaries also on Thursday. He will compete again on Friday in the 100m dash prelims at 3:45 pm.
