MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Report 5/17
The Bridgewater State trio of Matthew Lighten, Corey Stalters and Chigozie Adigwe earn the MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field weekly accolades after competing at the NEICAAA Championships over the weekend.

Lighten broke the school record in the 200-meter dash and earned All-New England honors in three events to lead the Bears last weekend at the NEICAAA Championships held at Bryant University. Placed third and garnered All-New England accolades in the 200 with a finals time of 21.28 seconds. Eclipsed the previous BSU outdoor mark of 21.38 seconds set by Brian Espinosa in 2014. Also placed sixth in the finals of the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.77 seconds and ran a leg on the Bears’ All-New England 4x100-meter relay team posted a time of 42.06 seconds to place eighth in the event. |
Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week |
Stalters placed third and earned All-New England honors in the javelin with a BSU record-setting toss of 66.74m (218’ 11”) this past weekend at the NEICAAA Championships held at Bryant University. The top Division III student-athlete in the event, smashed his own school mark of 63.19m set earlier this season at the MASCAC Championships. Currently ranks third in all of Division III in the javelin. |

Adigwe placed ninth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.18 seconds this past weekend at the NEICAAA Championships hosted by Bryant University. |
