Worcester State's Jobst Headlines Men's Basketball All-Conference Team
Senior Dane Jobst of Worcester State is the 2013-14 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year and leads the All-Conference team which is voted on by the seven coaches around the conference.

Westfield, Mass. — Senior Dane Jobst of Worcester State is the 2013-14 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year and leads the All-Conference team which is voted on by the seven coaches around the conference.
Helping the Lancers land the third-seed in the MASCAC conference tournament with an 8-4 league record, Jobst was a driving force for the squad this season, finishing atop the league in rebounds per game with 13.5 and fourth in points per game at 16.7. The senior from Athol, Mass. collected a double-double in 17 of the 24 games he played in this season and earns his second straight All-Conference nod after landing on the second team last season.
Paul Brooks of Worcester State was tabbed as the 2013-14 MASCAC Rookie of the Year after a season that saw the freshman from Arlington, Mass. finished the season third in the conference in field goal percentage at 50 percent. He also averaged seven points, 4.8 rebounds per game and 1.96 blocks on the year. For his efforts in leading his squad to the top seed in the conference tournament and a 9-3 conference mark, Salem State's Chris Harvey was named the 2013-14 MASCAC Champion's Choice Coach of the Year.
Joining Jobst on the 2013-14 MASCAC first-team All-Conference squad were Bridgewater State's Michael Lofton, Fitchburg State's Mike Ingram-Rubin, Salem State's Andrew White and Westfield State's Grant Cooper.
The 2013-14 MASCAC second-team is comprised of Bridgewater State's Kyle Gibson and Brendan Monteiro, MCLA's John Jones, Salem State's Bryan Ortiz and Worcester State's Brendan Rios.
The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's first Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC core member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
