Framingham State's McCarthy To Receive Zabilski Award From Gridiron Club Of Greater Boston

Framingham State University wide receiver James McCarthy has been selected to receive the 15th annual Joe Zabilski Award which recognizes the top players in Divisions II and III from the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston. McCarthy will be honored at the Bob Whelan College Football Awards Night on Thursday, January 13th at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, Mass.

Massachusetts Maritime Hall Of Famer Ruggeri To Receive Ron Burton Distinguished American Award

Don Ruggeri, who guided Massachusetts Maritime to 144 victories and a pair of New England Football Conference championships during a Hall of Fame career that spanned 28 seasons, has been named as the recipient of the 2011 Ron Burton Distinguished American Award from the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation. Ruggeri will be honored by the organization at its annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet in May at Lombardo’s Restaurant in Randolph, Mass.

Framingham State's Leach To Receive NEFW Nason Award For Senior Achievement

Framingham State University senior running back Dave Leach has been named the recipient of the 2010 New England Football Writers Nason Award for Senior Achievement, which has been presented since 1958 to the senior who has persevered against all odds to succeed in football. Leach will receive the award on Thursday, December 9th at the New England Football Writers Awards Dinner in Stoneham, Mass.
