Westfield State’s Parakilas Named 2025 MASCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Year, Mass. Maritime’s Joia Defensive Player of the Year, Headline 2025 MASCAC Men’s Soccer All-Conference Team
Nick Parakilas of Westfield State and Preston Joia of Mass. Maritime are named the MASCAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year. The duo headlines the 2025 All-Conference team as voted on by the coaches from around the conference which is voted on prior to the conference tournament.

Westfield, Mass. — Nick Parakilas of Westfield State and Preston Joia of Mass. Maritime are named the MASCAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year. The duo headlines the 2025 All-Conference team as voted on by the coaches from around the conference which is voted on prior to the conference tournament.
Parakilas, a junior from Broad Brook, Conn., had a record setting season for the Owls. He netted 22 goals and four assists for 48 points along with four game-winning tallies. His single season goals is tied for fifth all time in the Westfield State record books. He currently is second in DIII in both goals per game at 1.22 and points per game at 2.67 while sitting in fourth in shots per game with 5.17. Nine times during the season, Parakilas scored two or more goals with his season-high coming in the win over Framingham State where he found the back of the net four times.
In his second season with the Buccaneers, Joia is the MASCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year. The sophomore from Mashpee, Mass., helped guide Mass. Maritime to the second seed in the tournament after stopping 60 shots with a .800 save percentage and 1.13 goals against average. He finished with eight wins, including four shutouts with three of them during MASCAC play.
Earning this year’s MASCAC Rookie of the Year is Gustavo de Oliveira of MCLA. The freshman from Pittsfield, Mass., led the team with seven goals and one assist for 15 points while netting a game-winner. His best game of the year came in the win over Framingham State where he scored four goals.
After leading his team to the most wins in program history with 11 and the second seed in the tournament, Greg Perry of Mass. Maritime is the 2025 BSN Sports Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year by his peers.
Joining Parakilas and Joia on the first team are Hector Bucio, Tyler Chang and Filippo Mucci and Gavin Norton of Bridgewater State, Zachariah Foster of Fitchburg State, Kaio Santos Da Silva of Framingham State, John Burke and Brody Calvert of Mass. Maritime and Iago De Sousa-Vieira of Salem State.
Landing on the 2025 MASCAC Second Team is Kyle Brocker of Anna Maria, John Holt of Framingham State, Joseph Hajjar and Jack Turmel of Mass. Maritime, Stephane Fevry and Yuriel Sanchez of Salem State, Charlie Anischik, Carter Hebert, Marko Kononenko and Enzo Mazza of Westfield State and Wilber Garcia of Worcester State.
