Framingham State’s Ford, Onujiogu Named MASCAC Football Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, Headline 2021 MASCAC Football All-Conference Team
The Framingham State duo of Devaun Ford and Joshua Onujiogu are the 2021 MASCAC Football Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year and headline the 2021 MASCAC All-Conference teams as voted on by the coaches from around the league.

Westfield, Mass. — The Framingham State duo of Devaun Ford and Joshua Onujiogu are the 2021 MASCAC Football Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year and headline the 2021 MASCAC All-Conference teams as voted on by the coaches from around the league.
Ford, a sophomore from Mashpee, Mass., follows up his 2019 MASCAC Offensive Rookie of the Year honors with the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year accolades. Ford helped the Rams to the MASCAC Regular Season crown and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. During the 2021 season, he collected 10 touchdowns on the ground and four in the air while amassing 1,200 yards, 805 rushing and 395 receiving. His total rushing yards, yards per game and touchdowns were the third-best in the MASCAC this season. In the win over Fitchburg State Ford scored three touchdowns with 142 total yards on the day.
Taking home the 2021 MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year honors is Joshua Onujiogu from Framingham State. The senior defensive end from Wareham, Mass., led the conference in sacks with 12.5 and sack yards with 75. He also had the most tackles on the team with 62 (6.2 per game) while registering 23 tackles for a loss of 110 yards, two forced fumbles and an interception. In the win over Westfield State, Onujiogu had nine tackles (six solo), 1.5 sacks for a loss of 12 yards, five tackles for a loss of 26 yards and a 47 yard interception return.
Bryan Lawton from Framingham State is the 2021 MASCAC Offensive Lineman of the Year award. The freshman guard from Maynard, Mass., helped the team finish in the top five of several categories, including rushing yards (1,932), rushing yards per game (193.2), rushing touchdowns (24), first downs (238), rushing first downs (110) while averaging 30.6 points per game and 405 yards per game.
Earning 2021 MASCAC Offensive Rookie of the Year honors is Dante Aviles-Santos from UMass Dartmouth. The sophomore quarterback from Cumberland, R.I. helped the Corsairs to a 8-2 overall record and 6-2 in the MASCAC/ At the end of the regular season, he was first in the conference with 21 passing touchdowns and pass efficiency at 147.8 while collecting 1,881 yards (188.1 per game) in the air, 276 on the ground with six more touchdowns. His best game of the season was in the win over Dean where he had six touchdowns, five passing and one rushing. Threw for 325 yards with touchdown passes of 41, 55, 78, 14 and nine yards while running in a one yard score in the victory.
Dylan DeWolfe of Framingham State is the 2021 MASCAC Defensive Rookie of the Year award winner. The freshman linebacker from Marion, Mass. collected 52 total tackles, including 35 solo, a sack and 10 tackles for a loss of 32 yards. He had a career-high 10 tackles with eight solo, including three tackles for a loss in the win over Westfield State.
For the fourth time in his career, Tom Kelley of Framingham State has been named the Champions Choice Coach of the Year after leading the Rams to their 10th MASCAC Regular Season title and a perfect 8-0 season.
