Lancers and Bears battle it out to a draw in MASCAC action

Worcester, MA - The Blue & Gold hosted Bridgewater State Saturday afternoon at Coughlin Field, looking for revenge from their MASCAC quarterfinal loss last season. Tensions were high on both sides throughout the game, and with shots on both ends within the final minutes, the teams concluded the match with a draw.

 

FINAL SCORE: Worcester 0, Bridgewater 0

 

First year midfielder Wilbur Garcia (Bilbao, Spain) led the Lancers with four shots, with one being on goal. Bridgewater was led by Carsten Boloz and David Nelson, who shot two apiece. The Lancers recorded a total of thirteen shots (four on goal), while the Bears shot nine (four on goal). 

 

Lancer keepers Dylan Ruberti (Westborough, MA) and Andy Ramirez (Waltham, MA) split time in the net and recorded a total of four saves on four shots. Ruberti recorded three of them in the first half and Ramirez saved one, while Bridgewater's William Russel saved four on four shots in the full 90 minutes. 

 

This draw brings Worcester State to a 6-2-4 record and remain undefeated in the MASCAC (3-0-1), while Bridgewater moves to 2-6-2. 

 

The Lancers head to Halloween Central next Saturday, where they will face the Salem State Vikings at Alumni Field, Kickoff is set for 1:00pm. #WeAreWorcester
