Lancers Fall in Comeback Bid To Gulls

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team looked to extend their winning streak to 3, and reach .500 on the season  as they travel to battle the Gulls from Endicott College for a non-conference affair. The Lancers are coming off a home victory Tuesday night as they beat Wheaton 2-1 at home under the Coughlin Lights. 



Final: Worcester: 3   Endicott: 6



The Lancers and Gulls were tied at one a piece at the end of the first as senior Zoe Athanasopoulos (Hopedale, MA) netted the lone lancer goal. Endicott had a strong 2nd as they netted 3 to take a 4-1 lead going into the break. The Lancers and Gulls tied the 3rd as neither team scored any goals, junior Natalya Morin (Barre, MA) opened up the scoring in the 4th to cut the Lancers deficit to 2 but Endicott netted 2 goals in the final 15 to extend the gap. Emma Thomson (Agawam, MA) scored in the final minute to make the final 6-3. 



The Blue and Gold, who now sit at (2-4, 1-0) return to action Saturday morning when they travel to Bridgewater State for a MASCAC showdown. They look to improve to 2-0 in MASCAC play Saturday.  Endicott currently sits at (6-1, 0-0) on the season.
