Lancers Victorious over MCLA in MASCAC Volleyball Play

Worcester, MA - The Lancers traveled out west to North Adams, where they took on the Trailblazers at MCLA's Amsler Campus Center Gym Tuesday evening in MASCAC Volleyball action. With a kill by first-year Kate Stedronsky (Sea Girt, NJ), assisted by sophomore Megan Bardis (Rutland, MA) to seal the third set victory for Worcester State by a score of 25-10, the Lancers handed MCLA their first conference loss of the season with a 3-0 set sweep.

Junior Erin Gaffney (Worcester, MA) led the team with 8 kills, while MCLA's Anais Badio also recorded 8. Bardis recorded all 33 assists for the Lancers, while Victoria Tynan recorded 24 for the Blazers. Junior Camryn Burgio (Quincy, MA) recorded 26 of Worcester's 67 digs, while Ellie Walter-Goodspeed led MCLA with 16.

 

This MASCAC triumph brings Worcester to a 4-17 record (3-1, MASCAC), while MCLA goes to 11-6  (3-1, MASCAC).

 

The Blue & Gold return to Brissette Court tomorrow night where they will face the Anna Maria Amcats, with the first serve set for 7pm.
