It wouldn't take long after for the Lancers to find themselves on the power-play and extend their lead over the Vikings on a pass from senior forward Brendan Ronan (Saugus, Mass.) to junior forward Deiter Stange (Niles, Ill.).

The Lancers & Vikings had an eventful second period, with Roth extending their lead just under a minute into the period with a power-play goal, with assistance from first-year forward Anders Grongstad (Royal Oak, Mich.) & sophomore forward Brigham Neuhold (Edmond, Okla.). Salem eventually got themselves on the board with a power-play goal of their own from Zach Dill, with assistance from Matt Yianacopolus & Erik Larsson. The Lancers responded with a goal four minutes after from senior forward Mikey Wilson (Alexandria, Va.), his ninth of the season. Grongstad & Neuhod were once again responsible for the assist.

This game's goal fest concluded with Salem's second that came just over four minutes into the third period from Skylar Millar. Stange would then put another one on the board for the Lancers to bring the score to 6-2, which is how the game would eventually finish.

Grongstad finished the game with one goal & two assists for the Lancers, while Stange recorded two goals on the power-play. For the Vikings, Dill led the team with a total of eight shots, one being Salem's first goal of the game, bringing the team shot total to 25.
