Double-Double for Bjorn Brings Basketball Win to Lancers

Worcester, MA- A jam-packed day of Worcester State athletics opened with a big conference win for the men's basketball team out in western Massachusetts against the MCLA trailblazers. Not only did the 76-56 victory extend their conference record to an impressive 5-0, it also lengthens an insane 5-0 stretch since the winter break.

A twenty-point game from freshman Aaron Nkrumah (Worcester, Mass) paired with yet another fantastic showing off the bench by senior Tayjuan McKenzie (Boston, Mass.), who was responsible for 11 points, put the Lancers in a great position to capture the win. The big star for Worcester State was undoubtedly graduate senior captain Erik Bjorn (Holden, Mass.), who posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

As a team, Worcester State shot a resounding 52.4% from the field and had a 14-point advantage over the trailblazers in the paint. Undoubtedly a winning combination. Now 13-5 on the season, the Lancers will look to stay hot on Wednesday night at home at 5:30, when they host Framingham State as a part of Worcester State's Lancer Nation Night. MCLA finishes the day at 6-9 and 2-3 in the MASCAC.
