Women's Soccer Knocks Off Worcester State for Dacey's 100th Coaching Victory

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's soccer team defeated Worcester State University by a final score of 1-0 Thursday evening in non-conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the victory, Curry improves to 5-2-1 overall on the season. The win is the 100th victory of Curry head coach Sarah Dacey's collegiate coaching career.

The only marker of the contest came off the boot of sophomore Kiera Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.) in the 25th minute. After receiving a feed from senior McKenna Reid (Irvine, Calif.) on the left wing, Lindmark looped a high-arcing shot over the outstretched hands of the Lancer keeper.

The goal would hold up for over 65 more minutes as the contests only goal, despite a handful of quality chances at both ends of the field.

Curry held a narrow 13-11 edge in the final shot count, but the shots on goal totals favored Curry by a margin of 9-3. Worcester State freshman Mallory Dupuis made eight saves, while Curry's Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) earned her third shutout of the year with three saves.

Next up for the Colonels, they will look to stretch their unbeaten streak to five games with a road trip to Wentworth on Saturday. Kickoff from Sweeney Field is slated for 12 p.m.
