ALL SQUARE FOR THE LANCERS & THE PRIDE IN TUESDAY NIGHT ACTION

Worcester, MA - The Lancers continued their four game road trip with a 1-1 draw against Springfield College Tuesday night at Brock-Affleck Field. 

FINAL SCORE: Worcester 1, Springfield 1

The game started off scoreless until the 41st minute mark, when Springfield's Leland Malloy shot one in the net, assisted by Chayne Bruneau. The Lancers struck back in the 43rd minute with a goal from sophomore co-captain Matt Alzamora (Holden, MA), assisted by first year forward Brady Iovanni (Lunenburg, MA). Worcester State's goal came off a corner kick from Iovanni, headed in by Mahmoud to tie the game. 

Sophomore keeper Andy Ramirez(Waltham, MA) recorded four saves on four shots, while Springfield keeper Clayton Knibbs saved four out of five. 

The Lancers recorded a total of nine shots with five on goal,  while the Pride recorded 17 shots with five on goal. This brings Worcester State to a 3-2-2 record and Springfield goes to 1-3-2. 

The Lancers next travel to Fitchburg this Friday night, where they will face the Falcons in their second MASCAC match-up of the 2022 season.
