Ullrich Nets Hat Trick

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team fell to the Rams of Framingham State University this afternoon 21-6 in MASCAC action from Elliot Field.

How It Happened

The Falcons opened the scoring when junior Madison Alves (Braintree, Mass.) tipped the twine just two minutes into the game. After the Rams tied the score sophomore Mackenzie Ullrich (Oakdale, Conn.) scored a pair to push the Green and Gold to a 3-2 advantage.  Framingham State would close out the half with twelve unanswered goals to take a 13-4 lead at intermission. Freshman Hannah Guerin (Cumberland, RI) notched a hat trick in the run for the Black and Gold.

Sophomore Nicole Berry (New Fairfield, Conn.) and Guerin potted a pair a piece to start the second half to increase the Rams' lead. Ullrich and junior Julie Miele (South Hadley, Mass.) added goals for Fitchburg State in final twelve minutes.

Inside the Numbers

  • Senior Nicole Kopacz (Tewksbury, Mass.) had two groundballs and 4 draw controls, while Miele added a goal with two assists, a ground ball and four draw controls for the Falcons.
  • Guerin finished with seven goals and an assist with five ground balls, and a caused turnover. Junior Tara Palermo (Mashpee, Mass.) collected six points with four goals and two assists.
  • Francesca Reyes (Malden, Mass.) stopped 8 shots for Fitchburg State in the setback.
  • Senior Mikayla Seavey (Bridgewater, Mass.) made one save for her first win of the season.
