MYRTLE BEACH, SC: Rivier baseball fell in both games this evening to Bridgewater State in non-conference action.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 3/6/23

- Score: Bridgewater 4, Rivier 0. Bridgewater 19, Rivier 2

- Records: Bridgewater (2-0), Rivier (0-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED: Game One

-  The Bears scored all four runs in the bottom of the first on three hits. After that inning, Nolan Mederos (Nashua, NH) kept Bridgewater to just one more hit through four innings. He finished the game with four hits allowed and five strikeouts in the loss.

- The big story for this one was Matt Josselyn completing a perfect game for the Bears. Josselyn pitched all seven innings, striking out 13 Raiders.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Hits: Bridgewater 4, Rivier 0

-  Errors: Bridgewater 0, Rivier 1 

HOW IT HAPPENED: Game Two

- In game two, Bridgewater found their stride at the plate, scoring in every inning but the fifth. Their largest inning came in the second, where they plated eight runs on five hits. The Bears were selective at the plate drawing 14 walks which gave them multiple bases loaded situations in, which they were able to capitalize on with 15 base hits throughout the contest.

-  The Raiders got in the hit column with seven in this one. They pushed across two runs in the bottom of the second on back-to-back base hits by Owen Medlock (Merrimack, NH) and Jacob Plamondon (Manchester, NH).

- David Kerns picked up the win (1-0) after going five innings with five hits allowed, seven strikeouts, and just two earned. Anthony Morro (Durham, CT) was tagged with the loss (0-1) after going 1.2 innings allowing six hits, seven earned runs, and four walks.

- Joey Molis was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs

- Joshua Selander was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs

- Kevin Lindsay was 3-for-5 with 2 RBIs

- Medlock was 2-for-3 with an RBI
