SPRINGFIELD, MA: Fitchburg State women's soccer dropped their third straight contest this afternoon to Western New England (WNE) in non-conference action.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 9/9/23
- Score: WNE 4, Fitchburg 0
- Records: WNE (2-0-1), Fitchburg (1-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Golden Bears scored three in the first half on 20 shots. Gabby Sansone got it started in the 6th minute of the game. Lindsay Reidy would tally her first goal of the season just five minutes later. The third and final goal of the first half came off the foot of Ella Lupo in the 25th minute.
- Western New England would tack on one more in the second half, just over three minutes in, on a Jordan Pare goal.
- Madison Dawkins (Haverhill, MA) would be tagged with the loss (1-3) after allowing three goals with eight saves. Carina Joslin would get the win (1-0) after seeing no shots on goal.
