WESTFIELD, Mass. –   Brady Iovanni scored one goal and assisted on the other to lead Worcester State to a 2-0 win over Westfield State in a MASCAC men's soccer matchup at Coughlin Field in Worcester on Saturday afternoon.

Iovanni's marker in the 13th minute would prove to be enough offense for the Lancers, which got an insurance goal late from Luke-Mark Anu off of an assist from Iovanni.

The Lancers held a 19-12 advantage in total shots, and a 7-3 edge in shots on goal on the day, but Westfield generated five corner kicks to Worcester's one.

Westfield got five saves in goal from Emilio Mancuso, while Worcester's Dylan Ruberti made three stops in the shutout.

Westfield is now 1-7-3 overall and 0-2-1 in the MASCAC, while Worcester improves to 6-2-2 overall and 3-0 in the league.

The Owls will next play a non-conference match at Emerson on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
