Men's Basketball Knocks Off Framingham State

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University men's basketball team picked up an 85-70 win over Framingham State University Saturday afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action at John P. Brissette Court.

With the win, Worcester State improves to 10-11 overall on the season and 6-2 in the MASCAC.

All five Lancer starters finished the contest in double figures, led by the contest's leading scorer Chris Cardoso (Jamaica Plain, Mass.), who recorded a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double. Senior Tyler Dion (Barre, Mass.) poured in 20 points in the victory as well, while Corey Olivier (Maynard, Mass.) recorded 17, Sam Dion (Barre, Mass.) recorded 13, and senior Erik Bjorn (Holden, Mass.) grabbed a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. 

For UMass Dartmouth, Cameren McCloud-Thomas was the leading scorer with 16 points, while also recording 11 boards for a double-double.

Worcester State went nearly wire-to-wire in the win, only trailing 2-0 in the contest and leading for over 37 and and a half minutes. The Lancers shot an impressive 10-for-20 (fifty percent) from three in the victory.

Worcester State will return to the court on Wednesday evening, hosting Salem State University at Brissette Court for a 7:30 p.m. tip. Framingham will be back in action the same evening, traveling to MCLA.
