Field Hockey Falls to Rams in Overtime

FRAMINGHAM, MA: Fitchburg State field hockey fell to Framingham State to open up conference action this morning.   

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/16/23

- Score: Framingham 2, Fitchburg 1

- Records: Framingham (2-3, 1-0 MASCAC), Fitchburg (0-4, 0-1 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Rams struck first in the 22nd minute in the second quarter on an unassisted goal by Isabella Kondi. Framingham would take that lead into the half and later into the fourth quarter.

- The Falcons would knot the game up at one with just over seven minutes to go. Fitchburg's goal would come off the stick of Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA) for her first of the season.

- It only took 2:50 into overtime for the Rams to find the back of the net to close out the game. Kondi would strike again for Framingham State, notching her second goal of the day.

- Kaitlyn Tello will improve to 1-3 on the season with the win. Tello saw just five shots on net and was able to save four of those opportunities. Jenna Morse (Leominster, MA) falls to 0-3 on the season with the loss. Morse did all she could for the Falcons, saving nine of the 11 shots she saw in today's contest.

-  Saves: Fitchburg 9, Framingham 5.

-  Penalty Corners: Fitchburg 7, Framingham 4.

- Fitchburg State field hockey will be back Wednesday when they travel to Anna Maria to take on the AMCATS at 4:00 PM in non-conference action.
