BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Emerson College women's basketball team cruised to a 75-47 victory over visiting Bridgewater State University on Saturday afternoon at Brown & Plofker Gym.

The host Lions even their record at 4-4 on the season with the win, while the Bears fall to 2-5.

Emerson held the Bears to just 11 points in the first half and 21 after three quarters of play. The Lions led 64-21 heading into the fourth quarter and got up by as many as 48 points (71-23) early in the period.

Senior guard Natalie Clydesdale (Pittsburgh, Pa.) paced the Lions with 15 points, five rebounds and a pair of steals. Junior guard Kailee Yan (Mercer Island, Wash.) notched 11 points, three boards, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot in 21 minutes off the bench, while freshman guard Chelsea Gibbons (Foxborough, Mass.) added ten points and two rebounds in 12 minutes off the pine.

Junior forward Destiny Fitzgerald (Medford, Mass.) led the way for Bridgewater State with 17 points, seven rebounds and a game-best three blocks. Thirteen of Fitzgerald's game-high 17 points came in the fourth quarter.

Emerson shot 39% (28-72) for the game and finished 7-for-35 (20%) from three-point range. The Lyons also went 12-for-13 (92%) at the free throw line.

The Bears connected on 37% (18-49) of their field goals attempts and went just 1-for-6 (17%) from behind the arc and 10-for-27 (37%) at the charity stripe. Bridgewater State turned the ball over 30 times.

Sophomore guard Olivia Dziadyk (Wakefield, Mass.) added seven points and four rebounds for the Bears.

Prior to today's game, the fewest three-pointers that Bears had attempted this season was 16 against Rhode Island College on November 26th.

Both teams are back in action on Tuesday evening. The Lions host Lasell College at six, while the Bears entertain nationally ranked Tufts University at 5:30. Tufts is ranked second in both the D3hoops.com and Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) polls.
