BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Graduate forward Karenna Groff (Weston, Mass.) scored a pair of goals and junior midfielder Meagan Rowlett (Dana Point, Calif.) added a goal and two assists to lead #6 ranked MIT to a 3-0 shutout victory over host Bridgewater State University in a non-conference women's soccer matchup on Saturday afternoon at Swenson Field.

Groff tucked a shot inside the right post of a short feed from Rowlett in the 57th minute to extend the MIT lead to 3-0.

The Engineers outshot the Bears 23-2 for the game and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks attempts.

Senior goalkeepers Lauren Castle (Ridgefield, Conn.) and Ava Gillikin (Flemington, N.J.) combined on the shutout for MIT as they each played a half. Castle made one save over the first 45 minutes of the contest as recorded her second win of the season.

Senior netminder Tory Viola-Laughery (Brockton, Mass.) turned aside nine shots including a couple of diving stops in the setback for Bridgewater State.
