Field Hockey Completes Regular Season with Double OT Win

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier field hockey team took down Framingham State this evening in non-conference action. It took until the last minute of the second overtime, but the Raiders were able to pull off the win 2-1.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/28/2021

- Score: Rivier 2, Framingham 1

- Records: Framingham (4-12), Rivier (8-8)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders got on the board first on a Chloe Sicard (Salem, NH) goal in the second quarter at 25:16. Rivier would hold that lead until the third quarter.  

-  The Rams found their way into the arc to score the game tying goal in the 41st minute of the contest. Angelina Serra's fourth goal of the season pushed tonight's contest into another Rivier overtime.

- With just a few minutes left, the Rams were rewarded a penalty stroke. With the game on the line, senior goalkeeper Katie Olsen (Saugus, MA) stepped up to make a huge save stick side to keep the game alive. Just moments later, Jacklyn O'Conner (Westford, MA) finished the game with just 54 seconds left, scoring her second goal of the season.

- Rivier field hockey is back in action when they enter the GNAC offseason to take on Johnson & Wales in Providence. The game time is set for 2 pm.
