Men's Soccer Held Scoreless by Castleton

CASTLETON, VT: Fitchburg State men's soccer was held scoreless against Vermont State Castleton this evening in non-conference action.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 9/12/23

- Score: Castleton 2, Fitchburg 0

- Records: Castleton (2-3), Fitchburg (2-3)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Spartans struck twice in the first half, getting all they needed to get the victory. Tanner Curtis would get Castleton on the board in the 28th minute off of a pass from Ayoob Musanovic.

- Adolphe Alfani would tack on the second Spartan goal in the 34th minute of the first half. His goal would mark his second of the season.

- Luke Speers (Collegeville, PA) would be tagged with the loss after allowing two goals on four shots. He would make two saves on the day. Andres Soto-Burgos saw six shots, which he saved all in the win.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: Fitchburg 11, Castleton 9.

-  Corner Kicks: Fitchburg 6, Castleton 0.

-  Fouls: Fitchburg 10, Castleton 8.
